Malt Liquor

Manufacture
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus malt liquor is a strong lager in the sugar, corn or other adjuncts are added to increase the malt alcoholic. These beers tend to be slightly jumped (ie, not very bitter).
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus Brewing and legal definitions
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus malt liquor is usually straw or pale amber. While the typical beer and malt liquor are made up mostly of barley, water and hops, malt liquor tend to make much greater use of economic supplements such as maize, rice, or dextrose. The use of these supplements, along with the addition of special enzymes, resulting in a higher percentage of alcohol than is typical of beer. Higher versions of alcohol, sometimes called “high gravity” or simply “HG”, tend to contain fusel alcohol, which emits a solvent or fuel-like aromas and flavors.
MedlinePlus
The use MedlinePlus seem confusing and inconsistent term “malt liquor” has to do with the vagaries of American liquor regulations, which may vary from one state to another. In some states, “malt liquor” means any beverage alcohol made by fermenting grain and water, in these states a non-alcoholic beer may also be called a non-alcoholic malt liquor or non-toxic. In some states, products labeled ‘beer’ must fall below a certain content alcohol and beers that exceed the mark must be labeled “malt liquor. While regular beer in the United States average around 5% alcohol by volume, malt liquors typically range from 6% to 9% alcohol by volume. A legal definition is typical of Colorado Rev. Stat. ss. 12-47-103 (19), which states:
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus “Malt Liquors” includes beer and shall be construed in any beverage obtained by alcoholic fermentation of any infusion or decoction of barley, hops, malt, or any other similar product, or any combination thereof, the water containing more than three and two tenths percent alcohol by weight.
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus (Note: The percentages of alcohol measured by weight, resulted in large numbers when re-expressed as percentage alcohol by volume, because ethanol is less dense than water.)
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus History
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus Although Colt 45, St. Ides, Mickey’s, Steel Reserve, King Cobra, and Olde English 800 are closely related to malt liquors in the United States, the drink itself has more of these products. Clix is often credited as the first malt liquor made in the United States granted a patent in 1948. Malt liquor first big success in America was Country Club, which was first produced in the 1950s by the MK Goetz Brewing Company, and marketed toward middle-class whites.
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus Today, however, malt liquors are sold to a completely different segment, leading to a stereotype of the typical consumer. According to a study by Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in California, malt liquor is the alcohol of choice for homeless and unemployed. Since the 1980s, many brands of malt liquor begun to work aggressively in this market and using popular actors (such as Billy Dee Williams) or the rappers on their ad, Ice Cube, for example, appeared in ads St. Ides radio. Some rappers vigorously opposed this trend, the perception that malt liquor manufacturers are exploiting the African American community. For example, Chuck D of Public Enemy, took a strong stance against the malt liquor and once sued St. Ides over an ad that shows her voice without permission.

MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus In the American vernacular, a forty ounces, or just forty is a glass bottle that holds 40 ounces (1.18 liters) of malt liquor. malt liquors are commonly sold in 40 ounce bottles, compared with the standard twelve-oz (355 ml) bottle containing a single serving of beer. American National “malt liquors” tend to be very cheap, but this is not necessarily true for foreign imports that are also labeled “malt liquor.”
MedlinePlus
Examples
malt liquors sold in forty oz bottles include Colt 45, 40 Camo, Country Club, Olde English 800, Mickey, wildcats, Private Stock, Big Bear, St. Ides, Steel Reserve 211, B40 Bull Max, King Cobra and Hurricane. Dogfish Head Brewery used to produce a high-end bottled forty-called “malt liquor.” Ballantine markets its beer in a forty oz bottle too.
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus At least for a brief period in the mid-1990s, some brands of malt liquor, including Olde English 800 and Mickey, were in even greater, glass bottles of 64 oz. 40 oz bottles are not allowed in Florida as the container larger than a malt beverage may be sold at retail is 32 oz
MedlinePlus
International MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus While U.S. brands of malt liquor rarely, if ever, exported to Europe, similar cheap high alcohol beers are available in many areas, including responses lager “super-force”, as Tennents Super and Carlsberg Special Brew in the United Kingdom and in France the “bires fortes” Amsterdam Navigator, Amsterdam and Bavaria MAXIMATOR 8.6.
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus There is a strong tradition of premium beers high alcohol in Europe, including the Trappist monks of Belgium and France, Bock beers of Germany and Austria, and barley wine in the UK. Unlike American malt liquor and super-strength lagers, beer is full bodied, complex aroma and a high price.

Powered exoskeleton

Research
MedlinePlus Alamos Labs worked on a project in the 1960s exoskeleton called Project Pitman. In 1986, a prototype exoskeleton called LIFESUIT was created by Monty Reed, a U.S. Army Ranger who had broken his back in a parachute accident. While recovering in the hospital, he read Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein and Heinlein’s description of Mobile Infantry Power Suits, he designed the LIFESUIT, and wrote letters to the military about his plans for the LIFESUIT. In 2001 LIFESUIT One (LSI) was built. In 2003 LS6 was able to record and reproduce a human gait. In 2005 LS12 was worn in a foot race known as the “board of St. Patrick’s Day in Seattle, Washington. LIFESUIT XII Monty Reed and set the land speed record for distance walking robot suit. LS12 completed the race 3 miles in 90 minutes. The current prototype of 14 LIFESUIT can walk a mile on a full charge and lift 92 kg (203 pounds) for the user. [Citation needed]
MedlinePlus One of the major proposed uses of an exoskeleton allows a soldier to carry heavy objects (80.300 kg), while jogging or climbing stairs. Not only could potentially lead to more weight a soldier, presumably able to exert a heavier armor and weapons. Most models use a hydraulic system controlled by an onboard computer. Could be powered by internal combustion engine, batteries or, potentially, fuel cells. Another area of application could be the medical, nursing in particular. Given the impending shortage of medical professionals and the growing number of people in elderly care, several teams of Japanese engineers have developed exoskeletons designed to help nurses lift and carry patients.
MedlinePlus In January 2007, Newsweek magazine reported that the Pentagon had granted development funds from the University of Texas at Dallas nanotechnologist ‘Ray Baughman to develop military-grade artificial fibers Myomo. These electrically-contractive fibers are intended to improve strength to weight ratio of movement systems in military powered armor.

Hybrid Assistive limbs powered exoskeleton suit currently in development.
MedlinePlus exoskeletons could also be applied in the field of stroke rehabilitation or SCI patients. These exoskeletons are sometimes also called Paso Rehabilitation Robots. An exo-skeleton could reduce the number of therapists who need allowing even the most damaged patients to be trained by a therapist, while several are currently needed. Training could also be more uniform, easier to analyze a posteriori, and can be personalized to each patient. There are several projects designing training materials for the rehabilitation centers (LOPES exoskeleton, Lokomat, ALTACRO and gait trainer, Hal 5.)
MedlinePlus exoskeletons could also be regarded as robots wear: A wearable robot is a mechatronic system that is designed around the shape and function of the human body, with segments and joints corresponding to those of the person it is with the outside. Teleoperation and power amplification were said to be the first applications, but after recent technological advances in the range of application fields is said to have expanded. The growing recognition of the scientific community means that this technology is now employed in telemanipulation, man-amplification, neuromotor control research and rehabilitation, and to assist with control of human motor impairment (Wearable Robots: Exoskeletons Biomechatronic).

Brian Andreas

Background

Andreas was born in 1956 in Iowa City, Iowa, and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, in 1979 and went on his MFA in Fiber and mixed media received in 1992 from the John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, California, where he studied with emphasis on electronic community (focus on stories as a human community.) It was during 1992-1993, in conjunction with the Graduate School of Arts and Consciousness at JFK University, which he early Internet experiment that the Hall of Whispers coordinated.

 Hall of Whispers

Andrew put out to ask people to share stories about their experiences of life, using the Internet in the early 1990s. From this experiment, he wrote:

”Hall of Whispers takes its name from an ancient Babylonian myth of a specially constructed room in one of the ziggurats (stepped pyramids) where a whisper would live forever. I have a picture of the electronic networks whispering ceaselessly with the voices of our time .

”The shape of the project is deceptively simple … … to create a situation where we can invite a campfire … technology to create a virtual community with an old core of the community to make shared stories … a model of the Council for the understanding of our world … that is sharing that greater wisdom evolves. Finally, in a turbulent world, it is easy to see the sight of the small moments of beauty and grace which constantly occur around us lose. Hall of Whispers I wanted to give voice to that side of ourselves that recognizes that this is also a time of renewal is a time of decline. ”

with the then infantile Internet in counseling with fax, telephone and regular mail, Andrew eventually collected more than 4,000 stories from around the world. At the time, was Andrew lives with his wife and two young sons in Berkeley, and was artistic sets put determination of monochromatic path of sculpture. “I had a lot of white, black and beige round, but no color.” Finally, his wife has reportedly told him, “Please do not talk to me until you get some color.”

 Story People

With words of his wife and two young sons as motivation, Andreas went into his backyard and pulled a board from the fence and started to play with the boards and short stories and some color on it. Soon, formed as ‘people’, they began to sell. Encouraged by the results, Andrew and his wife, Ellen Rockne, along with their sons, and then left Berkeley early in 1994 and returned to Decorah, Iowa, where the two had previously attended Luther College. The results of the Hall of Whispers and the fence-board experiments, it was eventually written that “his Story People waiting to be discovered carved out a barn of rough plank, painted in bright colors, and hand-lettered with the individual stories. ” He “gives voice to the vision of the child and the unsophisticated who listen to books in unspecified” Story People “who express themselves through hand-stamp printing, though epigrammatically.”

Andreas Story People established headquarters in downtown Decorah, Iowa, in May 1994 and spent the next ten years led to the production of wood sculptures, print reproductions, books, greeting card sets and furniture with his trademark “and the bright colors … hand-lettered stories. “He and his family have since returned to California, where she recently moved into their new eco-friendly” green “house moved. Andrew continues to innovate with new stories and new media, which is currently creating original works on large canvases, while also monitoring the development of a new website.

of his work, Andrew said: “I love art that admits to being a part of life. The moments I have with my friends and family are really all I need. I want them and take them to interweave with stories filled with laughter and music and madness. and they are usually correct, but I’m not telling which parts … “” I have a really unique world view. A century ago, would I be standing on a soapbox in Hyde park telling people about a better way of seeing. ”
first book
Andreas’ hand stamped stories of black and white line drawings entitled Mostly true, was first published in August 1993. Still predominantly True followed in May 1994, and so far Andrew’s publications include a total of nine books.

Language
MedlinePlus “Lhoba” tribes living in Tibet Chinese speak at least three mutually unintelligible languages: Idu (Mishmi), a Tibetan-Burmese language of uncertain classification, Bokar (Adi), a Tibeto-Burman language of the eastern branch Tani, and Na (Bengni), a Tibeto-Burman language of the western branch Tani. These languages are much more widely spoken in Arunachal Pradesh.
MedlinePlus Customs and clothing
MedlinePlus Many customs, habits and dress of different clan members vary. Luoyu Lhoba men in black knee-wear jackets without sleeves and buttons made from sheep’s wool. Their literature also raises a significant influence over the Tibetans are known as counterparts. They Bokar in Arunachal Pradesh, northeast India and is located in Pidie and Monigong of Arunachal Pradesh circle. They trace their origin from a common ancestor, Abotani. Counting from the genealogy as Nijum-Jumsi-Siki-Kiyor-Yorkar-Kardung-Duram-Ramdung/Ramgu/Ramgo.All Bokars Abotani groups have sprung up from Ramdung, Ramgo and Ramgu.

Others remain animists, most often in Arunachal Pradesh, and its center of pilgrimage for the community is in Atho Popu-in Dibang Valley. The stories about immigration is mentioned on the shores of twelve rivers of Dibang Valley, the area known as cluster-Huluni Cheithu. Among the Yidu, traditionally thought that “Inni” is their supreme god.
MedlinePlus as Reh Festivals are held to appease the gods, traditionally believed to control the peace and prosperity of the people. The celebration with a wide range of tariffs and the priest performing the dance marks the end of the party.
MedlinePlus There are four variants from the funeral Lhoba Yidu (Mishmi UDI), and social status persons who choose to perform any of the four variants. In all variants, the priest recited songs UGI mourning for the dead. Mithuns are being sacrificed in the variant Yah the funeral, which lasts three to four days.

However, due to lack of salt, which had been endemic goiter, caused by poor living conditions. Many were born deaf or mute. Its population fell into decline until recent years due to this disease. Due to its small population, many of them not mixed with the Tibetans, or tribal groups in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly the Monpa.
MedlinePlus History
MedlinePlus The area was known to live as modern today Luoyu Lhoba (Luoyu is a name of a place in Tibet now) in medieval texts. Luoyu came under the control of Tibet since the seventh century and was the subject of frequent subjugation of Tibetans.
MedlinePlus is currently unknown if today “Lhoba” people, in fact, inhabited Luoyu at the time of the conquest of Tibet, or if the languages spoken by the modern “Lhoba” The people are indigenous to this region or not. Diana Jean Gabaldon born on January 11, 1952, in Arizona (USA). Her father was from New Mexico and her mother’s family from Yorkshire (England), her great-grandfather emigrated to Arizona from England in the 1860s.
Gabaldon grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona. She has three degrees from two different institutions: BS in zoology from Northern Arizona University, 1970-1973, MS in Marine Biology from the University of California, San Diego, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, 1973-1975. Her research topic was “agonistic interactions of hermit crabs.” and Ph.D in Ecology from Northern Arizona University, 1975-1978. Dissertation: “Nest Site Selection in Pinyon Jays, Gymnorhynchus cyanocephalus).” She also has an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters degree from Northern Arizona University in 2007. In addition, Gabaldon Hall, a dormitory on the campus of Northern Arizona University, named after her father, Tony Gabaldon. Gabaldon currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband, Doug Watkins, they have three adult children.
Gabaldon first fiction efforts were posted on the CompuServe Literary Forum, a meeting place for people who like books (the forum still exists, now called Compuserve Books and Writers Community www.community.compuserve.com / Books. She was an active member This book discussion community, and posted parts of her unfinished novel, Outlander, to strengthen its points in an argument with another poster about how it feels to be pregnant. One of the people that her post was a science fiction writer . He was impressed, and introduced her to his agent.’s agent, Perry Knowlton, took her in, based on an unfinished first novel. When he finished, he sent it to five editors, and within four days, three of they had made offers. There are seven novels in the main Outlander series, including an echo in the bone, released on September 22, 2009. Centre The stories about a time-traveling 20th-century English nurse (Beauchamp Claire Randall Fraser ) and its 18th-century Scottish husband (James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser), and established in Scotland, France, West Indies, England and America. The Lord John series is a spinoff from the Outlander books, as it centers on a secondary character in the original series, but is also part of the main series.
Note: Diana did not want the name of her husband after they married, “My husband had to say the least that I refused to have his name taken when we got married. I told him that I had the spelling” Gabaldon “for people twenty-five years, and I was attached. ”
Writing Process
Gerri Russell interviewed Diana Gabaldon around the release of an echo in the bone of November 2009 issue of RT Book Reviews Magazine in the article, she revealed Gabaldon makes individual scenes from the series and puts them to her work completed. She also advised aspiring writers to “read anything and everything …. Writing. This is unfortunately the only way to learn. And do not stop.”

Tilapia

Etymology

The common name of tilapia is based on the name of the cichlid genus Tilapia, which is itself one of latinization thiape, the Tswana word for “fish.” Scottish zoologist Andrew Smith said the family in 1840.

Zilli tilapia (St. Peter’s fish “) – typically employed in a restaurant Tiberias

Tilapia go by many names. The name “St. Peter’s fish “comes from the story in the Bible about the apostle Peter catching a fish with a sickle coin in the mouth out, though the passage is not the name of the fish. Although the name also applied to Zeus faber in a marine fish not found in the area, a type of tilapia (Sarotherodon galilaeus galilaeus) can be found in the Sea of Galilee, where the author of the Gospel of Matthew, the alleged account taken place. This species has been the target of the small artisanal fisheries in the area for thousands of years. In some Asian countries including the Philippines, large tilapia go through pla-pla, while their smaller brethren are just tilapia.

 Aquaculture

 Main article: Tilapia in aquaculture

Tilapia is the third most important fish in aquaculture after carps and salmonids, with production reached 1,505,804 tons for 2002. Because of their large size, rapid growth, and palatability, tilapiine cichlids are the focus of major aquaculture efforts, especially different types of Oreochromis, Sarotherodon, and Tilapia, collectively, the popularly known as tilapia. Like other large fish, they are a good source of protein and a popular target for artisanal and commercial fisheries. Most of these fisheries were originally found in Africa, but outside the aquaculture projects in tropical countries such as Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Indonesia are underway in freshwater lakes. In temperate zone areas, agriculture and unloading tilapiine energy to heat water for tropical temperatures. One method uses waste heat from factories and power plants.

the commercial farming of tilapia are almost exclusively men. Cultivators hormones such as testosterone to the sex of newly produced females times. Because tilapia are prolific breeders the presence of female tilapia results in rapidly growing populations of small fish rather than a stable population of harvest-size animals.

Whole Tilapia fish can be processed into sheets, boneless (PBO) fillets: the efficiency of 30-37 percent, depending on the size and the hare last trim. The use of tilapia in the commercial food industry has led to the virtual extinction of genetically pure bloodlines. Most wild tilapia today are hybrids of different species.

 Nutrition

Tilapia have very low levels of mercury as they are a fast growing and short-lived fish usually eats a vegetarian diet and found no prey accumulate mercury.

Tilapia is a low total fat, low saturated fat, low calorie, low carbohydrate and low sodium protein source. It is also an excellent source of phosphorus, niacin, selenium, vitamin B12 and potassium.

 exotics

Main article: Tilapia as exotic species

Tilapia are able to survive in low temperate climates, because hot water. The pure strain of the Blue Tilapia, Oreochromis aureus, is the largest cold tolerance, dies at 45 F (7 C) while all other species of tilapia will die at a range of 52-62F. As a result, they can not invade temperate habitats and disturbance of native ecology in temperate zones, but they have spread widely beyond their points of entry in many freshwater and brackish tropical and subtropical habitats, native species often disrupt significantly. Because of this, 100 of tilapia on the IUCN Worst Alien Invasive Species of the World list. In the United States, tilapia can live only in the extreme south of Florida and a few other isolated areas such as nuclear power plant discharge areas. Many state fish and wildlife agencies in the United States, Australia, South Africa and elsewhere, according to them an invasive species.

 Use other than provide food

Tilapia and serve as a natural biological control for most aquatic plants problems. Tilapia consume floating aquatic plants like duckweed water meal (Lemna sp.), The most “undesirable” submerged plants and most forms of algae. In the United States and countries such as Thailand, Tilapia still operating the plant of choice, reducing / eliminating the use of toxic chemicals and heavy metal-based algaecides. Tilapia are also known as the worlds aquaitic “shitmouths”, as they are known to consume at least 6 times their own body weight in other fish fecal matter.

Tilapia rarely compete with other “pond” fish for food. Instead, because tilapia eat plants and nutrients unused by other species and substantially reduce the oxygen depleting detritus, tilapia often add to the population, size and health of other fish.

Arizona tilapia stocks in the canals and drinking water sources for cities Phoenix, Mesa and others. The fish to help purify the water by consuming vegetation and detritus, greatly reducing remediation costs.

Arkansas held many public lakes and ponds to help with vegetation control, as a robust and forage species for anglers.
Kenya
tilapia control mosquitoes that cause malaria to help. They consume mosquito larvae, which reduces the number of adult females, the disease vector

Tilapia is also an abundant source of food for aquatic predators.
In aquaria

Larger
tilapia species are generally considered poor community aquarium fish because they eat plants, dig the soil and fighting with other fish. However, tilapia are often raised in the aquarium as a source of food due to their rapid growth and tolerance to high stocking densities and poor water quality. The smaller west African species such as Tilapia joka, and these species from the crater lakes of Cameroon are becoming increasingly popular. Specialized cichlid aquariums tilapias can be successfully mixed with non-territorial cichlids, armored catfish, tinfoil barbs, garpike and other robust but peaceful fish. Some species, including Tilapia buttikoferi, rendalli Tilapia, Tilapia Mariae, Tilapia joka and brackish water Sarotherodon melanotheron melanotheron, which have attractive patterns and are very decorative.

Autonomous research robot

Pioneers
The
Denning Mobile Robot Company in Boston was the first ready-autonomous robots that have been acquired primarily by the researchers. Grinnell More’s Real World Interface were, Inc. (RWI) and James Slater’s Nomadic Technologies in the U.S. and Francesco Mondada K-Team in Switzerland among the pioneers in the need for final robot for robotics researchers with the B-21 from the address RWI, meant XR4000 from Nomadic and tiny Khepera mobile robot from K-Team, but that the prices only a few students and military researchers, they could afford. The low-cost Pioneer robot was introduced through a cooperation between RWI and Activ Media Robotics in 1995, which many robots available and open the floodgates to new research in mobile robotics.

1999, the company was defunct Denning. In 1998, RWI performed with the iRobot Corporation ISRobotics form. It introduced the Grinnell More PackBot robot remote control, veering off track of autonomous robots for military research and development locations. Nomadic Technologies also left the field. Mobile Robots Inc and K-Team continues to gain autonomy and intended for the research.

In 2003, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) signed a contract with Segway Segway Segway PTs to fifteen Robotic Mobility turn into platforms. Segway developed the platform to serve a reliable, cost-effective tool for research and delivered to units of DARPA to April. In June 2003, DARPA is working with SPAWAR Systems Center, San Diego, to distribute the units to 14 government and academic research institutions to use robots in research ..

 Autonomous navigation techniques
A
Active Media Pioneer 3-AT robot at Georgia Institute of Technology

Research robots have great progress in autonomous indoor navigation between the 1990s and 2000s. Currently, a number of pre-research is based remote sensing, mobility, and computing power that can be used for such autonomy: The Pioneer, PatrolBot, PowerBot and PeopleBot platforms show buildings and move out-of-the-box, with SLAM and a variation on Monte Carlo method / Markov localization and changes in value-iterated search navigation techniques, with each sensor on the 2-D range-finder class. This method creates a readable map of the robot’s work area, to control and track robot this way they can move. Evolution Robotics offers single-camera VSLAM software, the selection-finding not Visual Pattern Matching, but this system can create a readable map replaced with robots, the position monitor. Other groups build stereocam-based VSLAM. Because the aim of monitoring data stereocam offers by using the differences between the lenses can be made and tickets robots followed. The K-Team Khepera, Segway-based platforms and other research robots can link to external IT resources to use this software.

The precision of these methods depends on the accuracy of the sensor tracks the granularity of the data and the speed of calculation. Range-finding laser to + / -1 cm accuracy while precision digital stereo camera is limited in a Quarter-pixel and thus is highly dependent on the field. Vision systems require more computing capacity than simple objective monitoring systems such as lasers, but can do the calculation on an embedded digital signal processor with the camera. Because of the cost and accuracy trade-offs, less expensive vision-based systems tend to be used on consumer robots, while commercial and industrial robots and automated guided vehicles (AGV) to laser-based systems tend to use.

Free, is treated primarily with GPS localization, but satellite signals can often be lost due to the weather, trees, buildings or other obstacles. If the signal is lost, the robot navigates normally using dead reckoning and inertial motion tracking. Dead reckoning is based on relative motion and wheel slippage is subject to cumulative error. Inertial Motion Tracking using rate gyroscopes and accelerometers to determine actual motion of the platform. The accuracy of the inertial motion tracking is set up by the quality and calibration of sensors. The Segway RMP robot Seekur are 400 and two of the few research platforms for this research developed, most other outdoor research robots are Jerry-rigged the researchers from existing vehicles.

In limited areas, some robots, like the John Deere Gator, simply surround the perimeter with a radio beacon and use simple triangulation from three or more beacons to locate and navigate. Beacons are also used in buildings of the earlier AGVs in factories.

Autonomous Solutions is a leader in the outdoor navigation software, the systems of John Deere tractors and some military platforms.

 Programming Research robots
Much research
Software for autonomous robot is free software or open source software, including Carmen is from Carnegie Mellon, Player / Stage / Gazebo from the University of Southern California and the aria API libraries of Mobile Robots, Inc. It also commercial software: Webots has been continuously developed in 1998 and is currently being used by more than 500 universities. It runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. More recently, in June 2006, started Microsoft Research offers free beta test copies of a Robotics Studio Software Development Kit with Pioneer robot in the simulation for Windows XP in an attempt to counter Linux dominance onboard mobile robot platforms. An elderly Platform: URBI SDK is a free software used in many universities. The abundance of autonomous mobile robots and software available to researchers has significantly accelerated the pace of development in robotics.

Facebook Storage Analysis: Managing the most complicated system! – Storage devices, Facebook-Securit

Until last year, the world’s leading SNS community site Facebook has 150 million active users, according to analyst comScore statistics, Facebook now has a lively sit firmly in the global social networking site, the top spot, currently ranked its Alexa ranking fifth.

Facebook users each month now upload more than eight million digital photos, the end of last summer, Facebook is the world’s number one online photo storage sites, a total of 6.5 billion images stored in the same time, Facebook has more than 500 10 000 films and other content, including the network of about 200 000 news, blog articles and reports and comments, a total amount of data in a number of PR are stored, all of this data storage security, but also to search immediately. This is an extremely difficult task.

In fact, Facebook is like one who created the legendary, hard to believe, the former Harvard University sophomore Mark Zuckerberg Facebook have only just five years old, collected in such a short time, such a large data is simply unbelievable, but it’s true.

In fact, Facebook growth was so fast and optimistic in December 2007, the company data center in California full capacity has fortunately achieved Facebook has storage management team saw the future of storage, and in the process of data growth U.S. East Coast, has established a computer center Virginia and officially launched a few weeks ago. However, actively manage the PB level of data is very simple, so the team at Facebook for practical solutions.

”The storage capacity for breakfast every day if I have a chart that indicated above, do we see.” Facebook engineering manager AnoopNagwani Company Store, said he had worked for a year and a half in Facebook “We evaluate every month throughout our organization, then it will be a panel discussion each week.”

MySQL growing Facebook user data are stored in MySQL database, has Facebook, the world’s largest MySQL database system, driving on more than 1800 servers run the MySQL database. Facebook chosen MySQL is open, because the code can change the nature of needs. Facebook is also the memory cache with a large number of servers (MemcachedServer), its speed significantly exceeds the MySQL server, and thus better able to keep with the requirements of a copy of the stored data. In addition, each night has is Facebook, data replication, the data in Facebook center of the West Coast to the East Coast data replication, data centers and perform a data dump, the data by data de-duplication Technology Professional Company Data Domain duplication technology for long-term storage under.

Facebook deal with a slightly different image and video editing, use of NetApp NFS and SATA hard disk will be saved because NetApp can be stored in a large container, large objects. However, with the stored number of photos on Facebook growth have overwhelmed NetApp cause of metadata systems, leading to a bandwidth bottleneck.

Therefore, this year, Facebook, to its own object storage system start plans “haystack”, has the system as a trademark, where the user-level abstraction of the data objects in a single file are (a similar one has been described LUN).

Facebook also uses NFS to store the video, “because we saved a lot of devices on the same data in the online system, this highly cost-effective and powerful way to do this have.” Nagwani about. Facebook system as Isilon’s clustered storage systems with the same good work. But Nagwani and his team are still actively looking for other platforms such as Sun’s Storage7410 unified storage system that can be extended 576TB.

600 million tons of water to the moon is expected to become space "filling station"

According to the British magazine New Scientist, scientists lunar exploration, is now the best time to explore the moon, but also “the worst” period. Creek NASA Ames Research Center – Elphick (RickElphic) said: “Currently, we have the lunar surface in depth understanding of knowledge, the last three lunar exploration mission confirmed the existence of three different forms of Water Moon to further promote the future of immigration on the moon of human passion, while the survey showed that the moon has the ability to produce fuel in space, it will become the next space ‘gas station, a solar system to explore the staging of other stars. ”

NASA Mini-SAR radar, the moon more than 40 sizes ranging from the Arctic (about 1.6 and 15 km) from the crater, each crater filled with ice water. NASA scientists said: “Although the water depends on the thickness of water ice in the crater of each ice thickness, but it is estimated that at least 600 million tons of water ice. ”

joint lunar exploration, however, future astronauts on the moon exploration program was quickly poured cold water this year in February, Barack Obama announced his intention to cancel the NASA Constellation program, which includes 20 years this century send astronauts to the moon at the beginning again.

However, after 2010, the world began to increase research efforts on the moon, the Obama plans to provide financial resources of the solar system for robotic exploration, including the Moon included. NASA has conducted four robotic missions to explore the moon’s atmosphere, gravity and seismology. NASA has successfully developed a new generation of robots medium?? Rose (Moonrise) “offers one of the tasks planned landing on the lunar South Pole-Aitken basin, excavation of soil samples sent to the ground. In addition, China and India has launched the “change” and “No. 1 Indian Moon (Chandrayaan-1)” detector, Russia and Germany are also planning a survey plan.

2009, NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) and Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) have found water on the moon, the moon of the investigation triggered a revolution, after the moon, the first of India have also detected the existence of lunar water. India Moon Mineralogy Mapper 1 Moon Chief Scientist Carl – Peters (CarlePieters) said: “probe the lunar surface has been found not only in water, and were found in three different types of water.” She referred to the moon in 2008 a deep volcanic soil on the moon crystal to a large number of water molecules in the investigation, the craters on the Moon Observation and Sensing Satellite, also found in the lunar polar water molecules. The water molecule is completely different, they come from different sources, and each has a deeper meaning.

Wet Moon historical perspective and found

wet in the history of the theory on the moon that diverge early 17th century, when Galileo’s telescope to detect the moon, scientists were widely thought to exist on both the water. Surface of the Moon Black spot is called “Maria” in Latin means ocean, but at the sight of the late 17th century the scientific community is a point further to the moon arid Stars. From the last century, “the Apollo lunar surface, and samples of moon rocks brought back to the ground, when NASA announced that samples of rock,” as dry as the skeleton. “Research since breaking the traditional concepts of Moon soil contains hydrogen ions from the solar wind, the chemical structure of the unstable prices, a large amount of oxygen atoms, which means that hydrogen ions can be bound to atoms oxygen to form water substances, such as hydroxyl (OH-) molecules of water.

1977, NASA Johnson Space Center Everett – Gib Johnson (EverettGibson) confirmed in experiments on rock samples collected Apollo out of the water when heated, and hydroxyl. However, he failed to change the traditional lunar rock is dry and judgments. At the same time, the University of California at San Diego, James – Arnold (JamesArnold) noted that water may exist near the lunar poles, before the Apollo was not detected in the region. As the lunar polar regions receive little exposure to sunlight, deep craters never shine in almost any light. Craters as it may serve as cold traps, used to collect water, thin moon, the atmosphere of any volatile compounds.
