Rudy and Kelly Academy and Paul Mitchell Schools Raise $1.2 Million for Charity
Virginia Beach, VA-Despite continuing reports for the failing economy, future professionals by Paul Mitchell the School San Antonio, national network Paul Mitchell beauty school spent the months of February to April collection of over 1.2 millions of dollars to their annual charity campaign FUNraising. Now in its seventh year, the annual campaign has exceeded all previous records and brought the combined total of more than $ 4.4 million.
For those who wonder why a group of students would be so passionate about raising funds for charity, the answer lies in the unique culture of the organization, whose stated goal is to create “Happy, successful professional future.”
“Giving back is a cornerstone of our philosophy,” says Dean School and co-founder Winn Claybaugh. “Of course we teach the skills necessary for a successful career, but we also teach the skills necessary for a successful life, and include those to be nice and give back.”
Rather than attempting to huge corporate donations, future professionals raised the most money through basic events like cut-a-thons, hair shows, car washes, bake sales, and “Casual for a Cause” days, with donations averaging $ 5 to $ 10. The funds will be distributed to the Memory Foundation Leeza Gibbons, Larry King Cardiac Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network, Food 4 Africa, non-profit organization and schools’, the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation.
Claybaugh results announced at a gala dinner at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach, California, April 25, 2010. The event was hosted by Claybaugh and representatives of charities supported, including radio and TV personality Leeza Gibbons, entertainer Donny Osmond, Paul Mitchell CEO and co-founder John Paul DeJoria and Paul Mitchell salon and Co-owner Angus Mitchell .
A packed audience cheered as the top ten FUNraising schools were announced. For the second consecutive year, Paul Mitchell The School – Salt Lake City won, raising $ 73,104. The top 10 individual FUNraisers were recognized during the dinner, along with the winners of the recent schools’: “Why It’s Cool to Be at Paul Mitchell future professional work to a” contest Paul Mitchell School YouTube video.
As a special surprise, Donny Osmond has brought his band and sang several songs for the crowd. “When Marie Winn Claybaugh and contacted me with an offer to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network, we were surprised, to say the least,” said Donny. “I was surprised when Winn told me that because of all your hard work and success of the campaign FUNraising this year, control of the Children’s Miracle Network is for $ 100,000 as originally promised, but $ 200,000! Talk about over delivering, something I expect from the Paul Mitchell family. You guys are amazing! “
Leeza Gibbons, who was involved with the annual campaign since its inception, said: “Again, future professionals by Paul Mitchell Schools exceeded all expectations, raising over $ 1.2 million. This was after having raised $ 100,000 for Haiti relief just before this campaign. Not only the results of FUNraising memorable, but the interaction between the future professionals with each other, their positive attitudes towards life and the love you have for what they do is truly reflected in their willingness to raise funds for others.
