Pharmacy Technician Continuing Education
Although currently only a minority of states actually require pharmacy technician continuing education, more and more states are adding this requirement. Regardless of state requirements, any pharmacy technician that is certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) needs 20 hours of continuing education every two years to complete in order to get recertified. There are many options available for pharmacy technicians for their continuing education requirements to complete.
The National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) has approved continuing education programs for pharmacy technicians in a variety of different formats including online options, print options, personal options, options and recorded. This pharmacy technician continuing education programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
Once you have selected as one of the pharmacy technician CE options available, which you either read or look at the course, and then return to the website for the course to make. You must score at least 70% to get credit for the course. If you have a passing score you can print the certificate attesting pharmacy tech continuing education courses completed. If you do not receive a sufficiently high score on the course, pass the first time, you have the materials and try the test once at no extra cost.
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is pharmacy tech CE courses available. They can be taken through online courses, reading printed matter, or podcasts. As a pharmacy technician continuing education courses de NPTA, once you have finished studying the material you need to take a test and a passing score to receive continuing education credits to obtain.
